Brittany Cooper, M.A., C.Psych.Assoc. (Supervised Practice) (she/her)
Hi, I’m Brittany. I’m an experienced psychotherapist and psychometrist dedicated to providing evidence informed treatment in a supportive, collaborative, culturally sensitive way. My understanding of diversity and willingness to treat every client as a unique individual with incredible strengths contributes to my warm and empowering approach. I work with kids, teens and adults, discovering the remarkable capacity people have for change on their own terms.
Combining my counselling and assessment skillsets, I offer cognitive, skills based, and experiential therapies utilizing modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and EFT. I’ve worked with a wide range of concerns over the years, while I offer expertise in anxiety, ADHD, Autism, and general difficulties in thought and emotion.
I earned my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from McGill University in 2016, and my Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto in 2013. I bring a strong skillset in understanding emotions, thoughts, and behaviours, and helping guide adaptive change. I’m committed to helping clients make fuller use of their strengths, resources, and capacities so they can live more freely and fully, in alignment with their values, needs, and goals.
I have a deep appreciation for the pains and difficulties people of all ages can experience, as well as the incredible capacity we all have for meaningful, transformative change. I gently challenge my clients and work together with clients to build lasting changes. Ones where new skills, changes with emotion, and new insights emerge.
I’m married with two young children, and I love spending time outdoors, soaking up the beauty of the natural world. I’m also a big fan of music and literature which help to keep me grounded and inspired.
